Herbalife posts 4Q profit

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands (AP) _ Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $99.4 million.

The George Town, Cayman Islands-based company said it had net income of $1.16 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1 per share.

The seller of supplements and weight-loss products posted revenue of $1.05 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $260 million, or $3.02 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.49 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Herbalife expects its per-share earnings to range from 75 cents to 95 cents. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $1.35.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.65 to $4.05 per share.

Herbalife shares have increased 23 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $59.40, a climb of 29 percent in the last 12 months.
