DIET Students get Lesson on Dengue
VELLORE: Second year students studying diploma in elementary education at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) at Ranipet were on Thursday told about the advantages of consuming 'nilavembu kudineer' — a herbal concoction to prevent dengue infection, in a workshop.
According to principal A Basheer Ahmed, DIET, in association with the local municipality, organised the workshop on dengue prevention to help students especially during the onset of monsoon when mosquito-related diseases are likely to break out.
Municipal Ayurveda consultant M Balaji explained what dengue is all about, how it manifests and how the herbal concoction can prevent the infection.
He also gave a cup of the concoction to all the student participants there, Ahmed said.
